GE Aerospace Selected by Japan Airlines to Support Boeing 787 Avionics Systems

Announced on 19 May 2026, Japan Airlines (JAL) has signed a 10-year maintenance and overhaul agreement with GE Aerospace, covering avionics system support of JAL’s Boeing 787 fleet.

Signed at GE Aerospace’s facility in Brisbane, the agreement will see GE Aerospace providing repair and stock support services for avionics systems on the Boeing 787 fleet operated by JAL and its subsidiaries.

Drawing on GE Aerospace’s regional footprint, program management and material support for the maintenance program will be managed from Singapore to meet JAL’s operational requirements.

GE Aerospace, the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the Boeing 787’s Common Core System and related avionics systems included in the agreement, will provide repair and support services for JAL’s 53 Boeing 787s. All these aircraft are powered by GE Aerospace’s GEnx-1B engines.
