Eaton Scales Up Aerospace Footprint and Engineering Innovation Across Asia-Pacific

Intelligent power management company Eaton announced two strategic expansions at MRO Asia-Pacific 2026, held on 22-24 September 2026. These announcements include a new FAA certification for Eaton Aero Services (EAS) and EDB-supported investments in Singapore to enhance aerospace engineering and innovation expertise.

These new investments will help Eaton develop a more integrated aerospace ecosystem, providing customers with faster support, deeper technical expertise and sustained long-term value.

Expanding MRO Capabilities Through Enhanced Certifications

A central milestone for Eaton is the recent Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 145 Repair Station certification secured by Eaton Aero Services (EAS), a joint venture between Eaton and SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC). This accreditation empowers EAS to execute FAA-approved maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services and issue FAA airworthiness release certificates.

In an interview with Aerospace Singapore, Eaton said the new FAA certification, alongside its existing CAAS and CAAM certifications, strengthens EAS’s role within Eaton’s regional aerospace network and enhances its ability to support a broader range of customers across the region. This new certification also aligns with Eaton’s long-term approach of bringing engineering expertise, aftermarket support and repair capabilities closer to customers.

Mr Ian Lam, Managing Director of Eaton’s Aerospace Group, Asia-Pacific, particularly noted that “the certification is more than a regulatory milestone. It reflects Eaton’s broader strategy of strengthening its aerospace footprint across Asia-Pacific and bringing capabilities closer to customers.”

Scaling Engineering and Innovation Capabilities in Singapore

In parallel, Eaton is scaling up its engineering and innovation capabilities in Singapore with the support of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB). These initiatives spans across:

  • Product Innovation: To develop technologies and engineering solutions to support evolving customer needs and emerging aircraft platforms.

  • RMU Programs: To drive retrofit, modification, and upgrade solutions by applying engineering expertise to solve specific operational challenges.

  • Process Innovation: To improve maintenance procedures and repair methodologies to improve MRO processes throughout the product’s lifecycle.

In addition to the strong government support, partnerships across industry and academia are also critical in Eaton’s approach to bring innovation closer to customers, accelerate the conversion of operational experience into engineering solutions and to create greater value for its customers across Asia-Pacific.

“As our activities continue to expand, we look forward to exploring additional opportunities to work with universities, research institutions and industry partners to accelerate innovation, strengthen engineering capabilities and help develop the next generation of aerospace talent,” Mr Lam added.
