At the recent MRO APAC show, Embraer announced the appointment of SIA Engineering (Philippines) Corporation (“SIAEP”) and Fokker Services Asia as Embraer Authorised Service Centres in the Asia-Pacific region. These new partnerships will enhance maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) capabilities for Embraer’s E-Jets family, strengthening the company’s support network in this rapidly growing market.
SIAEP, a subsidiary of SIA Engineering Company Limited (“SIAEC”), is the first Embraer Authorized Service Centre in the Asia-Pacific region to perform MRO services for Embraer’s E-Jets E2 family of aircraft. Since 2017, SIAEP has served as an authorised service centre in the Asia-Pacific region for Embraer’s first-generation E-Jets. Currently, it operates three hangars located in Clark, Philippines.
Mr. Frank Stevens, Vice President of Global MRO Centres for Embraer Services & Support, said, “SIAEP has been a key partner for Embraer in the region in the last years. With this new agreement, SIAEP becomes even more strategic for the future of our company in the region, as the E2 fleet grows. We are very pleased with this step ahead on our long-term partnership”
Echoing this sentiment, Mr. Jeremy Yew, Senior Vice President of Base Maintenance at SIAEC also expressed excitement in the enhanced collaboration with Embraer.
“We look forward to providing quality and efficient base maintenance services to the E2 fleet at our facility in Clark”, said Mr Yew.
During the MRO Asia Pacific show in Singapore, Fokker Services Asia, a subsidiary of Fokker Services Group (FSG), was officially appointed as an Embraer Authorised Service Centre following the finalisation of a contract.
The awarded certification will allow Fokker Services Asia to provide maintenance services for the first-generation E-Jets family, specifically the E190 aircraft. This achievement not only enhances FSG’s capabilities in the Asia Pacific region but also provides Embraer with the chance to expand their support network in this growing market.
In view of the new partnership, Mr. Frank Stevens said, “We are very happy to partner with Fokker Services Asia to offer a strategic additional location to our customers. This will potentially provide more capacity, capability and help us to keep expanding Embraer’s Authorised Service Center footprint in Asia-Pacific”.
Mr Thomas Kennedy, Managing Director of Fokker Services Asia, stated that “this Embraer certification will further enhance Fokker Services Asia by establishing a comprehensive new line of work for Embraer aircraft maintenance in the region.” He also emphasised the team’s preparedness and dedication, noting the arrival of the first Embraer aircraft from Alliance Airlines (Australia) already in their hangar.
The growing Embraer Services & Support footprint marks a significant milestone in Embraer’s expansion strategy for the Asia Pacific region. The E-Jets fleet, which includes both the first-generation E-Jets and the E-Jets E2, are operated by airlines across Singapore, Australia, India, Myanmar, Japan, and China.
