Helicity’s Talk at ERAU Asia

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) Asia recently hosted an engaging lunchtime talk with Helicity, in their new campus in Seletar Aerospace Park. The session was held in the lead up to Heli Expo Asia, the premier event for the vertical aviation industry in the region. The event brought together industry experts to discuss emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities in the fast-evolving helicopter and vertical aviation sector.

The talk featured prominent speakers, including Mr Harry Pradipta, Vice President of Heli Expo, and Mr Rachmat, Head of Strategic Partnerships. The speakers provided in-depth insights into the latest advancements in rotorcraft technology, the growing role of vertical aviation in urban mobility, and how regulatory frameworks are adapting to support industry innovation. Discussions also covered the increasing demand for helicopter services in areas such as emergency medical operations, offshore transportation, and aerial tourism.

During the event, Helicity also announced an exciting new competition designed to encourage student innovation in aviation. Participants were invited to submit projects showcasing creative solutions in vertical aviation, with the exciting opportunity for the winning team to enjoy a helicopter ride.  The competition aims to inspire the next generation of aviation professionals by fostering creativity and problem-solving skills in real-world applications.

The talk provided attendees with a valuable understanding of the trends shaping the helicopter industry as well as career opportunities available in this specialised sector. Students also gained firsthand knowledge from seasoned professionals about the skills and expertise required to thrive in the vertical aviation sector.

The event saw a great turnout, with enthusiastic students eager to explore this niche yet rapidly growing sector of the aviation industry. With continued advancements in technology and operations, vertical aviation presents an exciting avenue for future aviation professionals. The Helicity Lunchtime Talk was another initiative by ERAU Asia to broaden student exposure to different facets of the aviation sector, reinforcing the university’s commitment to industry engagement and experiential learning.
