Pratt & Whitney Canada Expands New MRO services for Helicopter and Regional Turboprop Engines in Singapore

  • 30 Apr 2026

On 17 April 2026, Pratt & Whitney Canada announced the launch of new maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for helicopter and regional turboprop engines at its facility in Singapore, enhancing support for operators across the Asia Pacific region.

These enhanced capabilities aim to bolster support for over 300 PT6C-67C-powered Leonardo AW139 helicopters operating in the region, while increasing global MRO capacity for the PW127XT engine, which powers the latest generation of ATR 42/72 aircraft and will be applied in the Deutsche Aircraft D328eco in future.

Since opening in 1983, the Singapore facility has evolved into a key hub for customer support in Asia Pacific, specialising in overhaul, repair, and frontline services for turboprop engines. The introduction of the new PT6C-67C capabilities mark allows the site to provide turboshaft maintenance, including full overhauls supported by a new modular test cell. The facility has also expanded its existing PW100 MRO capabilities to include full overhaul support for the PW127XT engine.

Mr Anthony Rossi, Vice President, Customer Service of Pratt & Whitney Canada, noted that the Singapore facility has been “a cornerstone of our Asia Pacific operations for over four decades, delivering heavy maintenance support to regional turboprop and APU operators.”

“With the addition of these new heavy MRO services, we are better positioned to meet rising demand from our in-region customers by offering advanced, localised maintenance solutions and reducing turnaround times,” Mr Rossi added.

The PT6C-67C and PW100 engine families are among the most widely used globally. Pratt & Whitney Canada has delivered more than 3,000 PT6C-67C engines, which have collectively accumulated over 10 million flight hours. Meanwhile, the PW100 family has surpassed 220 million flight hours worldwide, with the PW127XT accounting for approximately 300,000 of those hours.
