Singapore Airshow’s 10th Edition Highlights Robust Aerospace and Defence Growth in APAC

The Singapore Airshow 2026, Asia’s leading international aerospace and defence exhibition, drew a record 65,000 trade attendees to the Changi Exhibition Centre from 3–6 February 2026, marking a milestone 10th edition for the biennial event. With participants from more than 130 countries and regions, the strong turnout highlighted Asia-Pacific’s growing influence in shaping the future of aviation and defence, while commemorating two decades of the Airshow’s role as a premier platform for industry leaders, government officials and military delegations to connect, exchange insights and build strategic partnerships across the global aerospace ecosystem.

Across four intensive trade days, the Singapore Airshow 2026 not only highlighted groundbreaking technologies but also sparked millions of dollars in strategic investments and established partnerships set to shape the sector for years ahead. During the Singapore Airshow, a significant number of important announcements were made over the four trade days, this include

  • GE Aerospace announced new US$300 million investment commitment to expand engine repair capabilities in Singapore through 2029.
  • Rolls-Royce Singapore, Rolls-Royce Solutions Asia and the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to explore growth opportunities in aerospace and power systems. This agreement enables parties to explore advanced technology for improving aerospace manufacturing capabilities and MRO operations in Singapore.
  • RTX Corporation will invest US$139 million in Singapore to support next-generation commercial aircraft and meet growing regional demand. Under the new MOUs with the Singapore EDB, Collins Aerospace and Pratt & Whitney will expand and introduce new MRO and engine manufacturing capabilities in Singapore.
  • SAESL signed two MOUs with EDB and Singapore Polytechnic to strengthen its end-to-end talent development strategy to support long-term growth in engine MRO. Under one of the MOUs, SAESL will explore developing a Training Academy for its workforce to support its growth plans as it scales capacity to meet Rolls-Royce’s goal of expanding their global MRO capacity by 2030.
  • ST Engineering announced the launch of their advanced unmanned systems and ground vehicles at the Singapore Airshow 2026, alongside other strategic partnerships with Shield AI and Airbus Defence and Space.
  • Thales signed three MOUs with the Singapore EDB to deepen its digital core and enhance capabilities in AI, cloud, edge computing, data engineering, and manufacturing in Singapore.

Commenting on the record trade attendance at the 10th edition, Mr Leck Chet Lam, Managing Director of Experia Events, the show organiser of Singapore Airshow, said this “reflects the strength and resilience of the aerospace and defence sector.”

“This edition not only marks a major milestone for Singapore Airshow but also highlights the sector’s vitality, with our trade visitors engaging in dynamic discussions, sharing insights and exploring new collaborations across aviation and defence,” he added.
